Entry requirements and assessment

The standard academic entry route requires five Ordinary Level passes, including English Language and Mathematics, plus three Advanced Level passes. Equivalent qualifications, national diplomas and accounting technician qualifications may also be considered.

Mature applicants aged 23 or over should demonstrate an appropriate educational background, recent academic study, proficiency in English Language and Mathematics at Ordinary Level, and the potential to benefit from professional accountancy study.

Prior qualifications and relevant experience may support an exemption application. Exemptions are not automatic. Provide certificates, transcripts and other evidence requested for an individual review.

Submitting a form does not guarantee admission, exemptions, examination entry or membership. Confirm the applicable requirements and fees with CPA England.
